Sadguru Sadafaldeo Ji Maharaj, the originator of Vihangam Yoga, has expressed all His spiritual experiences in Swarved. After seventeen long years of rigorous meditation, whatever spiritual experience He acquired in the state of Samadhi (the state of oneness with God), He compiled in Swarved. The entire spiritual experience of Sadgurudeo is mentioned in Swarved. An amazing synchronization of experience and expression can be found in Swarved. Until the Swarved was published, Sadgurudeo always used to keep the handwritten manuscript in his personal custody and used to read it aloud by Himself in solemn tones, in the midst of devotees-disciples. This treatise is the illumination of His heart. Swarved is a subject of spiritual knowledge. What is the subject of Swarved? – It is Brahm Vidya. The subject of Swarved is spiritual knowledge, Yoga Vidya, and moreover all the aspects of human life have been incorporated in this unparalleled, great treatise. We have to move the chariot of Vihangam Yoga ahead on the basis of Swarved.
Two types of knowledge have been described in our Upanishads and told by the saints of Brahm Vidya. One is Aparā Vidya and the other one is Parā Vidya.

The saints have said that the two types of sciences that are there – are worth knowing. Their knowledge should be obtained. One science is Aparā Vidya and the other is Parā Vidya. The four Vedas – Rigveda, Yajurveda, Sāmaveda, Atharvaveda and general education, grammar, prose, poetry, astrology, etc. – all these are the subject matter of Aparā Vidya. We certainly get amazing worldly and scientific knowledge through Aparā Vidya. Aparā Vidya is also full of many types of worldly and scientific knowledge, because it is empirical, it has theory. The experienced saints have visualized this knowledge deep within and then have put it into writing. This knowledge is gained through a ‘Guru (teacher) and pupil relationship’, which is a very holy and sacred tradition. There is a plethora of knowledge and all of those which fall under the gamut of worldly knowledge are part of Aparā Vidya. The knowledge pertaining to deities, geology, astronomy, astrology, different types of arts and culture, etc. – all are the subject matter of Aparā Vidya.
The other one is Parā Vidya, which helps one experience the self and realize one’s true identity. Through Brahm Vidya we enter into the inner world to realize the soul and the Supreme Soul - the conscious entities.
Ath para yaya tadhcharmdhigamyate|
Upanishads say - we experience the Akshar Brahm (the Cosmic Executer) with the help of Parā Vidya. Let us now delve deep in the Swarved. The principal subject of Swarved is Brahm Vidya. It has been written to ensure the spread of Brahm Vidya. Let us listen to its great verses carefully -
Madhujata Madhuna Sharan, Khan Prayas so Pav|
Madho adhi tum nirmita, Madhumat Purn banav||
Madhuvidya se madhu mile, mite sakal santap|
Dhyatn dhrishya darshan mile, Aatam shudh pratap||
Aatam Savbal Savshanti sam, purna puratam bhav|
Madhuvidya madhu mankar, such shanty Satbhav||
What does Sadgurudeo say in the above verse? The words of Swarved say that – this Madhu Vidya is born out of Madhu (the Divine Nectar). It has come from Brahm who is pervading the universe and is operating every action that takes place. Brahm Vidya is born out of Brahm and it is under the authority of the Eternal Sadguru. The Abhyās Siddha Sadguru acquired it through toilsome efforts and the flow of Brahm Vidya knowledge advances through the Paramparā Sadgurus. Who has acquired this Madhu Vidya, this Brahm Vidya and who is its custodian? It is in the custody of the ‘madhuna’ (“Madhuna Sharan”, as per the verse above). It is in the custody of the Sadguru, the Eternal Sadguru. Abhyās Siddha Sadguru has acquired it through His herculean metaphysical efforts.
From where does the Madhu Vidya originate?
Madho adhi tum nirmita
You originate out of ‘Madho Adhi’, of Amrit. Brahm Vidya is born out of Amrit. What is the meaning of Amrit? Is it some kind of a substance, a kind of drink that makes one immortal after drinking? Is it any chemical? The real meaning of Amrit is – ‘Yo Na Mritah’, the one who has not died and who does not die, the one who does not take birth too; is immortal, and eternal, without a beginning. It does not decrease or increase, is unchanging. So this Brahm Vidya is born out of Amrit. This Amrit is nothing but the authority of God, who never changes, who is eternal.
